Nyela Basney Conductor/Coach/Director Orvieto Musica. Principal conductor/Musical Director credits include American Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Opera Texas, Massepequa Symphony, Roberts Wesleyan College Community Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, Shreveport Symphony.
Susan Webb Coach/Pianist. Assistant Conductor/Coach Metropolitan Opera; former opera affiliations with Boston Symphony, Tanglewood Institute, Kirov Opera, Bayreuther Festspiele, Lyric Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Australia Opera.

Additional Offerings

Italian Immersion Lunches, Participants may audit all classes and participate in events and trips offered by Orvieto Musica, Optional sightseeing on weekends, Chamber pieces coached by Orvieto Musica/Opera Lirica Faculty


Weekly Offerings

  • Voice lessons and audition consultations
  • Coachings conducted in Italian or English
  • Daily classes in Italian language and text work with professional Italian language teacher: Beginning & Intermediate/Advanced levels offered
  • Master classes on auditioning, role preparation, interpretation, and working with conductors

Limited Enrollment

Audition required beginning in November (video with high quality audio may be considered). Acceptance of qualified participants will be conducted on a rolling admissions basis. Non-refundable application fee $25 includes pianist. Fee of $2400* (deposits of $500 due by March 1) includes tuition, room, board (2 meals). Transportation not included.

*Opera Lirica collaborates with the international chamber music festival Orvieto Musica, Inc., an annual International Chamber Music Workshop in Orvieto, Italy.
